Octavian Rafael Olariu was born in 14 June 1984. He started to playing at the bassflüghorn early when he was 11 years old, to
Filadelfia Church Timisoara. In his childhood also playing in the Ghiroda fanfare. There was the band where he developed a good technique. An
important year for Rafa was 2000 when he come in the Elim Brass Band as bassflüghorn player! At that time Doru Chifan was the principal
bandmaster in Elim, so Rafa had a good opportunity to make music on a high level.
In 2001 Doru started to "grow" a new generation -> Elim Brass Band Junior and Rafa became the Doru's assistant! In Octomber 2002 Doru arrived in Antlanta Georgia USA and became the bandmaster of Atlanta Brass Band (Philadelphia Romanian Assembly of God).
All Doru's jobs were passed to Rafa. Although Rafa is very young, he is very talented. Until present Rafa continues to write new compositions and arrangements ...
