The Elim Brass Band was founded in 1982 by Aurel Biriescu in Timisoara, Romania. Playing regularly in the church services and rehearsing a lot, the band developed a very good technique. however its style was a pure fanfare style until the beginning of 1993, when Doru Chifan became the assistant conductor of our band. Radical changes happened as new young players joined the band. Doru Chifan's talent and his desire of working with us, made everyone in the band strive for another level. Since 1993 the style of our music changed as well. Not only the songs were modified from their original versions, but also new rhythms and harmonies were introduced to us as Doru Chifan's compositions and arrangements were written.He offers his variety of Jazz and Praise and Worship elements. Later, the recording projects kept us busy around the clock, but in the end we were happy with the results. Today the band still records and produces new albums as well as numerous concerts are given.So, we have performed concerts in Timisoara, Cluj, Bucuresti, Constanta, Arad, Oradea, Baia Mare, Brasov ... We've always had good players in our band and we hope that we will continue our activity with God's help. Many of our players live today in other countries. In fact 1998 was rough year for us, as the principal trumpet player decided to continue his studies in the USA. Following that,other 3 of our top trumpeters left our band. And this was because of the critical economic situation in Romania. Others have gone to England, Spain and other countries. In 2002 was another sudden change when Doru Chifan decided to live in Atlanta Georgia, to serve Atlanta brass band. Here is a list of our main players which live in other countries :

Since 2002 until present, the principal bandmaster is Octavian Rafael Olariu, a very young man but talented! He is the disciple of Doru Chifan and continues Doru Chifan's work.
